The Attention of NORTHERN COALITION OF SOCIO POLITICAL GROUP was drawn to the Comments made by Senator Adams Oshiomhole regarding the allegations of misuse of funds by the military.
According to the lawmaker, funds allocated to military were being diverted by senior officers to build universities and community service projects in their home towns rather military duties.
But as a group, which has carefully followed activities of the security agencies between 2023 and 2024,this very untrue.
We can authoritatively say the allegations of high level corruption in the Nigerian army and other security agencies by Oshiomhole are not only false , but also unfounded and unacceptable.
Even the blind Nigerians can attest to fact that the security architecture has improved relatively . The challenges of terrorism and banditry is gradually becoming history as the military and other security agencies have taken the war beyond our imagination.
It is therefore foolhardy to here that a respected lawmaker and former governor of Edo State, who in his days as Governor was the Chief Security Officer of a state could make such allegations without evidence to prove or proof to buttress his claims. His vituperation were based on mere imagination than empirical.
From our humble observations as stakeholders from a region with the highest problems of insecurity, we make bold to say the problems of bandits and insurgency would soon be history, thanks to the concerted efforts of the Chief of Staff , General C.G Musa and other service chiefs.Therefore ,we urge the National Assembly to allocate more funds to beef up and ensure the final clean of our security system.
From available statistics , the daily occurrence of bandits and insurgents attacks have reduced drastically. At least, today and average rural dweller can go to bed with two eyes closed, thus we commend the efforts of oir security agencies .
